Itinerary: 3-Days tour from Fes in Morocco

Day 1 : Fez – Ifrane – Midelt – Ziz Gorge – Erfoud – Rissani – Merzouga

On this 3-Days tour from Fes in Morocco, we will pick you up from your hotel and start our exciting journey through the Sahara. You will enjoy a scenic drive through the mountains of the Middle Atlas, stopping at numerous Berber towns such as Ifrane and Azrou. You will see everything from forests to green plains to rocky roads. At noon we will stop in the town of Midelt for lunch and a break before returning to Merzouga. Upon arrival, we will check into a kasbah where we will spend the night.

Day 2: Merzouga – desert adventure and camel ride

Today is the official day to experience all the exciting desert activities, starting with a 4×4 ride through the Erg Chebbi dunes. Along the way, you’ll see many black tents scattered haphazardly across the desert: these are the tents of Berber nomads who have chosen to live in the Sahara. We will stop at one of these families and have a cup of tea with them to learn more about their culture and way of life. Another group of indigenous people who have chosen to live in the Sahara are the Khamlia villagers, who we will visit shortly.

You will listen to their spiritual music and enjoy their company before returning to our Kasbah hotel for lunch (or we can have lunch in the village). After resting, you’ll take a camel ride across the majestic desert dunes at sunset before arriving at the desert camp where you’ll spend the night. At the camp, dinner is accompanied by entertainment with Berber music and dancing.

Day 3: Merzouga – Midelt – Ifrane – Fez (desert tour)

This morning you will be awakened by your desert guide to watch the sunset over the desert dunes, a scene that can only be described as heavenly. You will then return to Merzouga and take a camel ride across the dunes of Erg Chebbi. We have breakfast in a traditional riad in the town and then leave the desert and return to Fez along the same scenic route as the previous day. Upon arrival in Fez, we will drop you off at your chosen location.
