Itinerary: 5-days tour from Fes to Marrakech

Day 1 : Fez – Ifrane – Midelt – Erfoud – Merzouga Dunes (Fez – Merzouga – Marrakech)

5 days tour from Fes to Marrakech. We start our journey through the Sahara Desert in Fez, picking you up early in the morning (8 am) from your hotel to begin our exciting journey through the Sahara Desert, starting in the town of Ifrane.

Ifrane is known as a winter sports resort and is often referred to as the ‘Switzerland of Morocco. We continue through the cedar forests of Azrou in the mountains, where we may stop in the hope of seeing wild macaques. After spending some time there, we continue our journey by car, which will take us to the town of Midelt. We then cross the Tizin Tlghamt Pass before crossing the beautiful Ziz Gorge.

After admiring the green scenery of the Atlas Plateau, the landscape gradually becomes more deserted and you will know that we are approaching the city of Errachidia. After passing through the desert towns of Erfoud and Rissani, we will finally reach the town of Merzouga, where you will be warmly welcomed in desert style. Finally, you will board a camel and cross the majestic desert dunes at sunset before arriving at the desert camp where you will spend the night. At the camp, dinner will be accompanied by Berber music and a dance show.

Day 2: Erg Chebbi – Tisrdmin Oasis – KHamlia – Merzouga Desert

This morning you will be woken up by your desert guide to watch the sunset over the desert dunes, a scene that can only be described as heavenly. You will then return to Merzouga on camels and ride through the dunes of Erg Chebbi.

You’ll shower and have breakfast at a traditional riad in town, before taking a 4×4 drive through the Erg Chebbi dunes. Along the way you will see many black tents scattered haphazardly across the desert: these are the tents of Berber nomads who have chosen to live in the Sahara.

We will stop at one of these families and have a cup of tea with them to learn more about their culture and way of life. Another group of indigenous people who have chosen to live in the Sahara are the Khamlia villagers, who we will be visiting shortly. You can listen to their spiritual music and enjoy their company before returning to the local Kasbah Hotel for refreshments and a swim. Desert Excursion

Day 3: Erg Chebbi – Rissani – Toroug – Tingdad – Todra Gorge (Fez Merzouga Marrakech)

The day after our tour of the Sahara from Fez, we have breakfast and leave the desert for our next destination: the Dades Valley. On the way, we first stop in the town of Rissani to visit a traditional market and then in Erfoud to visit one of the local fossil marble workshops. We will then reach the beautiful Todra Gorge, which is considered the highest and narrowest gorge in Morocco. We will spend the rest of the day exploring its beauty, and we will also spend the night.

Day 4: Todra Gorge – Dades Valley – Valley of the Roses – Skoura – Ouarzazate

The next day: Breakfast at the hotel. Then we start our journey through the Dades Valley and the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs. This exciting road owes its name to the fact that there are abandoned kasbahs and sand castles everywhere, which means we will have plenty of photo opportunities. We then cross the beautiful Valley of Roses to finally reach the film town of Ouarzazate. Overnight in a local hotel in Ouarzazate.

Day 5: Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – High Atlas – Marrakech

For the last day of our Sahara Desert Tour from Fes. We will drive to the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. This world-famous Kasbah is perhaps the most important historical Kasbah in Morocco. Pasha Glaoui, an important ruler of the region at the beginning of the 20th century, built this Kasbah. Today, the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It has already served as a backdrop for numerous international historical films. Finally, we drive through the High Atlas Mountains towards Marrakech and enjoy the green and mountainous landscapes.
