Itinerary: 5-Day Morocco Tour from Casablanca

DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN CASABLANCA AND TRANSFER TO FEZ

Our 5-Day Morocco Tour from Casablanca starts when we pick up at Casablanca airport and transfer to Fez, the cultural capital of Morocco. Arrive in Fez, leave your luggage in the riad and depart in the afternoon to explore Fez with our local guide and overnight in the riad with breakfast.

DAY 2: FEZ – IFRAN – AZROU – ERRACHIDIA – DESERT.

After breakfast, we leave Fez and head towards the Middle Atlas Mountains to visit Ifrane, known as the Switzerland of Africa. The next village is Azrou “the rock”, a Berber village known for its crafts, carpets and woodcarvings, before we arrive in Midelt. We follow the road through Tizi Talgemt or Camel Pass at an altitude of 1,907 metres. The terrain is spectacular, the mountains are completely bare and covered in a purple mantle. We arrive in Errachidia and start crossing the Tafilalet mountain range to reach the palm grove of Erfoud. We set off into the desert of Merzouga for an incredible adventure. We embark on an hour-long camel caravan that will take us to the bivouac.

We’ll stop in the middle of the road to admire the sunset over the dunes and stretch our legs a bit before continuing on to the bivouac, where we’ll have another welcome tea before dinner and the chance to climb the big dune or smaller dunes next to the bivouac to see the shooting stars and make wishes. Overnight in Haimas in the heart of the desert (bivouac) with dinner and typical Berber breakfast.

DAY 3: MERZOUGA – OUARZAZATE

Early rise to see the sunrise, breakfast in camp and camel ride to continue to Rissani, the first imperial city in Morocco, with a visit to the legendary market, the largest in the south of Morocco. Continue to the famous Todra Gorges, the Dades Valley, the Valley of the Roses and the Skoura Oasis. Arrival in Ouarzazate Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

DAY 4: OUARZAZATE – KASBAH AIT BEN HADDOU – MARRAKECH

Breakfast and departure for Marrakech. Before continuing to Marrakech, we will visit the ancient Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit the Kasbah where numerous films were filmed including Obelix, Babel, The Sahara, Kingdom of Heaven, Cleopatra and Gladiator. We then follow the road to Marrakech and cross the High Atlas mountains through the Tizin Tichka pass (at 2,260m, the highest pass in the Atlas) with its spectacular views. In the afternoon we will reach Marrakech and stay overnight in one of the riads with breakfast.

DAY 5: MARRAKECH – CASABLANCA

Breakfast in the riad and departure for Casablanca, the economic capital of Morocco.
