Itinerary: 4-Day Tour from Marrakech to Sahara Desert Adventure

Day 1: Marrakech – Ouarzazate – Rose Valley – Dades Gorge

Depart from your hotel or riad in Marrakech at 8am to reach Dades Gorge via Tizi-n-Tichka in the High Atlas (2260m). After lunch in Ouarzazate, visit the Kasbah of Taourirt in Ouarzazate, the former residence of Pasha Glaoui, ruler of the desert. This visit will be accompanied by our guide. After a guided tour by our driver, we will continue our journey to enjoy the beautiful natural scenery and cross the Ois Skoura, which dates back to the 17th century. We will then travel to the Valley of Roses, Cala des Megouna, famous for its annual rose festival. We will also pass through the Berber villages of El Kelaa des M’Gouna and Boumaln Dades, where we will spend the night.

Day 2 : Dades Gorge – Todra Gorge – Merzouga – (Overnight in the desert)

After breakfast, we return from Dades valley to Papern Dades to continue to Tinghir and Todra Gorge; we will have some time to walk through the gorge and then we will drive to Erfoud via Tinjad village. After lunch, we will head to Merzouga to start our camel trek. The two-hour camel ride will take us to a Berber camp in the middle of the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi, the highest in North Africa. The camp consists of several tents equipped with mattresses and bedding, a restaurant, kitchen and ‘natural’ toilet. In the evening you can enjoy dinner followed by a Berber drum show around the campfire.

Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Alnif – Tazzarin – Nkob

We woke up before sunrise to climb the dunes and take some fantastic sunrise photos. We had breakfast and then loaded our luggage to take the road to Rissani. Rissani has located 22km from Erfoud in a palm grove and is impressive in its location, history, and many attractions. It is considered the capital of Sijilmasa, the former political capital of Tafilalet. After a long walk through the villages of Alnif, Tazzarin, and Nkob, where you can admire herds of wild camels and the impressive crescent landscape, you will continue into the desert to Alnif, where you will have time for lunch. Arrival in Zagora. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Kob – Agdez – Ouarzazate – Marrakech

Breakfast at the hotel. On the way back through the Atlas Mountains from the N’Tichka pass, over 2260m above sea level, we make a technical stop for coffee and drive back to Marrakech. Arrival at noon. Free afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay.
