Itinerary :3-Day Desert Tour from Marrakech to Fes 

Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley

Your journey begins with an early morning departure from Marrakech, venturing into the High Atlas Mountains via the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260m). Along the way, enjoy breathtaking views of traditional Berber villages clinging to the mountainsides.

Your first major stop is Ait Ben Haddou, an ancient fortress and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Wander through its narrow alleys and discover why this iconic kasbah has served as a backdrop for Hollywood films like Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia.

Continue to Ouarzazate, the gateway to the Sahara, where you can visit the Taourirt Kasbah, a historic stronghold of the Glaoui family. If time permits, explore the Atlas Film Studios, where famous movies and TV shows have been filmed.

The route continues through the Cedar Forests of Azrou, home to the famous Barbary macaque monkeys. Pause here for a chance to see these playful creatures before reaching Ifrane, often referred to as the “Switzerland of Morocco” for its European-style architecture and alpine feel.
