2-Day tour from Marrakech to Zagora
Itinerary: 2-Day tour from Marrakech to Zagora
Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas – Agdz – Zagora
Set out early in the morning for a breathtaking journey through the High Atlas Mountains, winding through dramatic landscapes and traditional Berber villages. Ascend the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, where panoramic views stretch as far as the eye can see.
The adventure continues to Ouarzazate, often called the “Hollywood of Africa,” where you’ll explore the historic Kasbah of Taourirt. After a break for lunch near the kasbah, travel deeper into the south, passing through Agdz and the lush Draa Valley, home to Morocco’s longest palm grove.
Arriving in Zagora, trade vehicles for camels and set off on an unforgettable trek across the golden dunes. Pause along the way to capture stunning desert vistas before reaching the camp, where a warm welcome of mint tea awaits. As the sun dips below the horizon, climb the dunes for a mesmerizing sunset, painting the desert in hues of gold and crimson.
As night falls, gather around the campfire for a traditional Moroccan dinner, followed by an enchanting performance of Berber music under the vast, star-filled sky.
Day 2: Zagora – Draa Valley – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
Rise before dawn to witness the desert’s most magical moment—the first light of day illuminating the dunes in soft, golden hues. After breakfast, ride your camel back to the starting point before setting off on the return journey.
Travel through the scenic Draa Valley once more, stopping at Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO-listed 16th-century ksar famed for its earthen architecture and cinematic history. Wander its labyrinthine alleys and marvel at the ancient fortress that has stood the test of time.
Enjoy a leisurely lunch before continuing through the rugged landscapes of the High Atlas. Arrive back in Marrakech by early evening, bringing an unforgettable desert adventure to a close.
